The Casa Batllo is a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi, leader of the Catalan Modernism. It is a complete remodelling of a pre-existing building on the site, designed by Emili Sala Cortés. It is located at number 43 Paseo de Gracia, the wide avenue that runs through the Eixample district, in the call apple of discord, because this building also houses other works of modernist architects: Amatller house that adjoins the Gaudi by Josep Puig; Lleó Morera House, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner Mulleras House by Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia, and Casa Josefina Bonet, Marcel•lià Coquillat. The building was constructed between 1904 and 1906.
