Barcelona is one of the most popular places to visit in Spain. There are so many tourists who all wants to see the same attractions in the city. There are a few beautiful places that are unknown to many tourists that Murmuri Barcelona wants to show you. Many of them are just a few metro stops from our 4-star boutique hotel on the Rambla de Catalunya, in the Eixample district from Barcelona.

Christopher Columbus Monument

The first one brings you in an elevator to the top of the Columbus monument where you can enjoy the good views of the Rambla, Montjuïc, the port and other places of Barcelona. The monument is a tribute to the man who discovered America but a funny fact about it is that he is not facing America but the opposite direction and point towards Mallorca. When you enjoyed the view, you can drink delicious wines from Catalonia at the bottom of the monument.

Búnquers del Carmel

If you want a better viewpoint of whole Barcelona than we recommend you go to the Bunkers del Carmel. After a long day of sightseeing you can relax here and enjoy the amazing view over Barcelona. Most tourists go to Tibidabo or Montjuïc but we think that the best view is on the bunker del Carmel!

Park La Horta Labyrinth

Located up north from the Park Güell you can find the Park la Horta Labyrinth. This park was built in 1791 and since 1971 it has become a public park where you can find a lot local people. In the middle of the park is an image of Eros, the god of love. So, this park is highly recommended for people who wants to have a romantic walk.

Casa Figueras

Antoni Gaudi is the most famous architect of Barcelona with his masterpieces as The Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila. He renovated an old 15th century palace and many people do not know this work from him. You can go in this building with a guide and the visitor’s revenue are reinvested in the building to repair the deteriorated parts of the building.

Observatorio Fabra

On the Tibidabo mountain is one yellow house with a domed roof. This is a scientific institution, and open to scientists, academics and the public. During the summer many dinners are giving here under the name ´Sopars amb Estrelles´. You can get a guided tour and explore the starry sky with a telescope.

This building is situated in the old town and is part of the hospital de la Santa Creu and Casa de Convalecencia.
